POSITION: Jeweler/Stone Setter
Sets precious, semiprecious, or ornamental stones in rings, earrings, bracelets, brooches, metal optical frames, and other jeweled items, using hand tools: Places item in vise. Cuts and files setting to accommodate stones, using files, chisels, and hand or electric drills. Positions stone in setting and fixes in place by pressing prongs around stone, by raising retaining metal ridge around stone, or by tapping edges of setting with setting tool and hammer, forcing metal against stone. Smooths edges, using emery file and pointed steel tool. Examines union of stone and setting, using magnifying glass. May drill holes in settings preparatory to setting stones in piece. May replace stones in rings. May be designated according to stone set as Diamond Setter (jewelry-silver) or according to item worked on as Stone Setter.
POSITION: Bench Jeweler
Fabricates and repairs jewelry, rings, pendants, bracelets, earrings and necklaces. Forms model of article from wax or metal, using carving tools. Places wax model in casting ring and forms mold. Inserts mold in furnace to melt wax. Cast model from mold. Forms mold for casting jewelry. Cuts, saws, files and polishes article using hand tools and polishing wheel. Solders pieces of jewelry using soldering torch or iron. Enlarges or reduces size of rings.

We are looking for reliable coworkers who are proficient and have working knowledge of stone setting -all shapes and sizes, jewelry repair and polishing and sizing. Good eyesight as well as good hand/eye coordination. Attention to detail is a must. Ability to sit for long periods of time, concentrate, and be able to do repetitive work. Good verbal communication skills. Strong multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and keep a positive attitude while under pressure.
Position Requirements:
1-3 years bench jeweler experience. High Diploma

POSITION: Polisher/Finisher - Hand Polishing of jewelry that contains stones, stone mountings, wedding bands, and miscellaneous jewelry parts. Grinding and surface preparation of precious metal parts for automated mechanical finishing operations. Accurate daily accounting and reporting of tasks, part, and metal inventory. Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment. Reasonable maintenance and care of departmental equipment, tools, and processes. Cleaning and recovery operations related to dust collection systems of the polishing department. Other duties related to the hand finishing department or jobs outside that department where training is provided. Continually consider and think of ways to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase output.
Position Requirements: Minimum of 2 years experience in jewelry polishing. Experience in a manufacturing/production environment is a plus. Intimate knowledge of the various polishing machines, wheels, buffs, brushes compounds, and techniques for various jewelry metals. Special consideration will be given to someone that can demonstrate skill in the use of a split lap machine. Good eyesight as well as good eye / hand coordination. Attention to detail is a must. Ability to sit for long periods of time, to concentrate, and to be able to do repetitive work. Good verbal communication skills. Strong multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and keep a positive attitude while under pressure.
